New participants are always in demand: many positions need to be filled to allow governance to function effectively. All positions have a limited term, so we are always looking for people to fill the vacancies.

Thirty faculty member for a one-year term
- Thirty representatives of contract faculty members including CUPE Unit 1, CUPE Unit II, and CUPE-Exempt Course Directors, during the year they hold a Course Directorship/Teaching Assistantship, or are on a leave for which they accrue applicable prior experience under the CUPE Unit II collective agreement;
- Council will normally take place the second Thursday of each month at 3:00 pm in the Senate Chambers, Room N940 Ross Building.
One contract faculty member for a one-year term, two graduate teaching assistants for a one-year term
The Committee on Teaching and Learning and Student Success will normally meet on the first Monday of each month (September - June) from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm in Room N926N, Ross Building.
Nine full-time faculty members elected-at large for a three-year term
Two graduate teaching assistants elected at-large on an annual basis
One contract faculty member elected at-large on an annual basis
Three students appointed by the Student Council of the Liberal Arts & Professional Studies on an annual basis
Full-time faculty members will be elected at-large for a three-year rolling cycle. Members elected at-large will not be from the same School/Department. Each year, one-third of the membership turns over and will be replaced on a rotational basis by other faculty members from different Schools/Departments who are not already represented on the Committee.
The Chair of the Committee is selected by the voting members of the Committee for a two-year term.
At least half of the voting members of the Committee, the majority of whom are full-time faculty members, constitutes a quorum.

Senate usually meets on the fourth Thursday of each month (September - June) from 3:00pm-5:00pm in the Senate Chamber, Room N940, Ross Building.
Typically, we are short of participants, so all applicants and nominees will be acclaimed. In an instance where this is not the case, a vote decides.
